About

I have been a coach, personal trainer, and fitness consultant in Baton Rouge, La since 2001. During that time I have worked with people from all parts of the fitness spectrum. As an athlete and coach I have had the opportunity to compete at every level and travel to some of the most breathtaking places on the planet.

My passion for athletics, travel, and adventure began at an early age.  When I was 16, I was invited to play for my country and named the U.S. International Soccer Program’s European Tour MVP.  In 1998, I joined the Marines, and served as a military police officer until  being Honorably discharged in 2001.  After being discharged I began coaching soccer and in my first year was awarded the District, Metro and State Coach of the Year by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, becoming the youngest person to ever receive this distinction at 21 years of age.

In 2007  I started Denver Benton fitness Services LLC – providing strength & conditioning
training, corporate health & wellness consulting, and professional running programs as a sponsored Brooks running coach.  In addition, I was a weekly health and fitness writer for Tiger Weekly Magazine, the featured writer for 225 Magazine’s annual Health & Beauty Guide for several years, a contributor to a number of online fitness and running articles. I was also fortunate to serve as a board member for Club South Runners and the Magnolia Woods Swim and Racquet Club.  As a corporate health & wellness consultant I helped establish the first in-house wellness program for Albemarle Corporation and it’s 1,500+ employees, which included a running program that has seen over 200 employees train for the Louisiana Half-Marathon.

In 2009, my passion for sports, fitness, and the great outdoors inspired me to to start Forge Racing LLC, an event management company focused on bringing unique sporting events to the state of Louisiana.  This included the creation of the Louisiana Trail Running State Championship Series, The Rouge-Orleans 126.2 mile ultramarathon & relay, and numerous other running events throughout the state.  These events have been featured on popular TV shows like NCIS New Orleans and in numerous online and print publications around the world.

In 2012 I co-founded GoAthlete LLC – an event travel management company that worked with sporting events and organizations throughout the United States. I led the company as CEO from 2012-2018.
